How to spend money on charity ?
They ask you what to spend for the cause of God. (Muhammad) tell them that whatever you spend, give it to your parents, the orphans, the destitute, and those who may be in urgent need of money whilst on a journey. Whatever good you do, God certainly is Aware of it. (2:215) Surah Baqarah
Charity is best when given privately.
It is not bad to give alms in public. However if you give them privately to the poor, it would be better for you and an expiation for some of your sins. God is Well-Aware of what you do. (2:271)Surah Baqarah
It is reported of the sixth Imam Jafar as-Sadiq (a) that the Holy Prophet (s) had said that “Charity in secret, quiets the wrath of God and takes away one’s sin as the water puts out the fire and keeps away seventy kinds of calamities.
No compulsion by Allah to spend in His way
Should He ask for your possessions you would be niggardly as it would be hard for you to give. Thus, He would make your malice become public (47:37). It is you who are asked to spend for the cause of God, but some of you behave in a niggardly way. Whoever behaves miserly does so against his own soul. God is Self-sufficient and you are poor. If you were to turn away from Him, He would just replace you with another people, who will not be like you (47:38). MUHAMMAD
Charity in God’s cause is a loan given to Him
Whoever gives a virtuous loan to God will receive double from Him in addition to an honorable reward (11).Hadid
How to earn Allah’s Mercy?
Be steadfast in prayer, pay the religious tax and obey the Messenger so that perhaps you will receive mercy (24:56).al-nur
